offering from the Iowa Bed & Breakfast Innkeepers
Association. Johnson was able to enhance the writing of
both the author and the innkeeper's recipes so that each
recipes might provide more clues to the texture, feel,
smell and appearance of the dish as the recipe progressed.
Often the cookbook author, Amelia
Painter, shares something about a recipe’s history
or cultural significance or, possibly, a childhood memory
or a personal anecdote. Johnson was able to work closely
with the author to give the stories in the cookbook a
stronger sense of place or style.
