The volunteers at People for Pets, and Foster Dog Parent Lee Youde, have seen some horrific things; animals beaten, thrown out of their homes to starve to death and dogs left on chains to live isolated, miserable lives outside with little or no food and water.

In an effort to educate the public, so they will know how to recognize animal abuse, Lee Youde was interviewed by the host of  In the Spotlight,  Jason White.

You can view all of the “Signs of Possible Animal Cruelty” on the blog that Youde maintains for his rescued dog Phantom.  Youde was the motivating leader of a group of Spencer animal advocates that rescued Phantom, a homeless German Shepherd that was running wild for over a year in Clay County, Iowa.  Following Phantom’s capture, Youde teamed with the local animal shelter, “People for Pets” and began an educational campaign to help people realize the importance of caring for pets.
